📋 How to Search and Filter Items in the Job Report

Section titled “📋 How to Search and Filter Items in the Job Report”

Quickly locate specific items or review your entire inventory from the Job Report. You can search by keyword, filter by category, or by label created.

The Job Report screen lets you efficiently manage and locate items within a job. Use search to find a specific object, apply filters for better organization, and choose between tile or list views.

  • A job with items already added

  • Access to the Job Report in the app or web portal

  • From your dashboard, open the job you want to review.

  • Tap Job Report. It opens on the Job tab — tap Inventory to view all associated items.

  • Tap the search field in the toolbar at the top of the Inventory tab.

  • Type the item name or keyword (for example, “chair” or “water bottle”).

  • The system searches every item in the job — by name, description, brand, model, serial number, tag, color, material, and comments — and displays the best matches with each item’s location and room. Results appear instantly as you type, even on very large jobs.

  • Tap the filter button (sliders icon) at the right of the toolbar to open Filters.

  • Tap the options you want. A selected option turns blue with a check mark, and the count next to the Filters title shows how many filters are set. You can filter items by:

    • Room

    • Category (Storage, Left On Site, Third Party, Non-Salvage)

    • Cost Range — leave every range unselected to include all prices

    • Tag or Box — type a label, or tap the scan button to scan one; Filters reopens with the scanned label filled in

    • Flagged items only

  • Tap Apply filters to update the list. Reset clears every filter. While any filter is on, the filter button stays highlighted.

Use filters to focus on specific groups of items or progress stages in your job.

  • Use the view button (grid icon) at the far right of the toolbar to switch between:

    • Tile View — displays large item previews and photos.

    • List View — displays compact item rows with essential details.

Both views show any markup drawn on an item’s photo as thin outlines on the thumbnail, so annotated items stand out while you scan. Text notes are left off at this size — open the item to read them.

  • Use filters before exporting to limit reports to relevant items

  • Always verify search results when confirming items for a homeowner

  • You can also search through the web portal

If search results don’t appear: Check spelling, try broader keywords, or reload the app. Search works offline too, as long as the job was opened at least once while online so the app could download its search data.
