This article describes how to create a job from ContentPal’s web admin
Who can do this? Organization owners, admins, and editors can create jobs. Jobs can be created on both the web app and mobile app, but we recommend starting from the web for speed and visibility.
1. Start a New Job
Section titled “1. Start a New Job”-
Log into your ContentsPal account on the web.
-
From the dashboard, click New Job.
-
Enter a Job Name.
- Tip: Use a consistent naming convention (e.g.,
CustomerName – Location – Date) for easier tracking later.
- Tip: Use a consistent naming convention (e.g.,
-
Add the Address.
- This is optional by default, but your organization admin can make it required (in Organization Settings), in which case the job can’t be saved without an address.
-
Select the Carrier associated with this job (required).
- (Optional, restoration and public adjuster organizations) Select the Program the job came through — a managed repair network such as Contractor Connection, Accuserve, or Sedgwick, a carrier program such as State Farm PSP or USAA STARS, a franchise program, or Direct / no program. You can change it later under Job Settings → Insurance.
-
(Optional) Open More details to add a claim number, adjuster and policyholder emails, default storage and cleaning categories, and to choose who to share the job with under Share with:
-
Everyone In My Organization (useful for large shared jobs).
-
Specific People in My Organization (e.g., assign to a project lead). Pick the people in the box that appears under Share with.
-
Private / No Sharing.
-
-
Click Create Job.
- ✅ Your new job is now created.
Change Who a Job Is Shared With Later
Section titled “Change Who a Job Is Shared With Later”You can change a job’s sharing at any time, not only when you create it:
-
Open the job and click the gear icon next to the job name to open Job Settings.
-
On the General tab, go to Job Sharing Settings and pick an option under Share with.
-
For Specific People in My Organization, pick teammates in the box under Share with. Each person appears as a tag; click the × on a tag to remove them.
-
Click Save.
Organization owners and admins can always see every job, even one shared with specific people only. If the settings are greyed out, you don’t have permission to change this job; ask an organization admin.
2. Add Labels to the Job
Section titled “2. Add Labels to the Job”Labels help track boxes, items, and custody. They’re the foundation of your job workflow.
-
Open the job you just created.
-
Navigate to the Custody tab.
-
Click Create to open the Create Labels dialog.
-
Configure your labels:
-
Name Prefix: By default, this uses your organization’s label prefix (set in Organization Settings) or, if none is set, the start of the job name. You can edit it.
-
Quantity: Enter how many labels you need (e.g., 10).
-
Type: Choose the label type (e.g., Tag or Box).

3. Generate and Print QR Code Labels
Section titled “3. Generate and Print QR Code Labels”Best Practice: Before heading to the job site, generate QR code labels on the website, print them, and bring them with you. While you can create labels manually in the mobile app on-site, pre-printing QR codes keeps your workflow organized and ensures you’re fully prepared.
-
In the Custody tab, click Print.
-
Choose one of:
-
Print All Labels (for a full set).
-
Print Selected Labels (the labels you’ve checked in the table).
-
Print Range (to select a subset, e.g., labels 1–20).
-
-
Select a Label Layout.
- Pro Tip: Pick the layout that best matches your label sheets.
-
Print the QR code labels from your computer.
-
Before leaving for the job site, ensure you have:
-
✅ Printed QR code labels
-
✅ Extra label sheets (in case you need to print more on-site)
-
✅ The job is synced to your mobile device
-
4. During the Job
Section titled “4. During the Job”-
As your team applies labels to items or boxes, those labels will appear in real time in the Custody tab.
-
If you run out of labels:
-
Team members can create new ones directly in the mobile app.
-
These will sync automatically with the Custody tab.
-
-
You can always re-print selected labels later if replacements are needed.
