How to Convert a Non-Salvageable Item into a Salvageable Item & Assign a Barcode

In ContentsPal, you can easily update an itemโ€™s status if it was originally marked as Non-Salvageable but later determined to be salvageable. Follow the steps below depending on whether you're using mobile or web.


๐Ÿ“ฑ On Mobile

  1. Open the Item

    • Tap the item you want to update.

  2. Update Storage Category

    • Scroll down to the Storage section.

    • Change the category from Non-Salvageable to one of the following, depending on where the item belongs:

      • Storage

      • Left on Site

      • Third Party

  3. Select Cleaning Category (Optional)

    • If the item will be cleaned and should be billed on the estimate, choose Needs Cleaning (or the appropriate cleaning category).

  4. Assign a Tag

    • Under Tag, scan the QR code to assign a barcode.

  5. Save

    • Tap Save to apply the changes.

  1. Select the item you want to update.

  2. Update the same fields as listed in the mobile steps:

    • Change Non-Salvageable โ†’ Storage / Left on Site / Third Party

    • Select a cleaning category if applicable.

  3. Note: Barcode scanning is not available on the web version.
