πŸ” Viewing and Editing Tagged Item Details

Once an item has been tagged and uploaded, you can review and edit all the details the system captured β€” including images, AI-generated data, and condition notes.

🧭 Summary

The Item Details view displays all information associated with a specific item. You can edit images, adjust details like brand or condition, add comments, or update AI-generated values such as replacement type, pricing, and category codes.

βš™οΈ Prerequisites

  • An item must already be added to your inventory

  • Access to the Item Details screen in the app

πŸš€ Step-by-Step: Reviewing a Tagged Item

1. Open the Item

  • Tap on any Item from your job report.

  • The item detail screen will open, showing a carousel of images at the top.

2. Manage Item Images

  • Swipe through the carousel to view all photos.

  • Tap Delete to remove an image, or Add Photo to capture new angles.

  • Tap Annotate to mark or highlight specific areas on the image (for example, damages or serial numbers).

πŸ’‘ (Tip: Annotating images helps document preexisting conditions or areas needing repair.)

3. Review Item Information

Below the images, you’ll see all the key details automatically generated by AI, including:

  • Item Name

  • Brand

  • Model

  • Cost Range

  • Description

  • Condition

  • Approximate Age

  • Approximate Size

  • Quantity

  • Tag ID

All of these fields are editable β€” simply tap to modify.

4. Add Comments or Notes

  • Tap Comment to leave notes about damages, wear, or other conditions.

  • Comments are saved with the item record for review in reports or by other team members.

5. Check and Update Replacement Details

  • The system automatically selects a Replacement Item and shows the Xactimate Code and Category it assigned.

  • You can change the replacement if needed, though it’s recommended to make major replacement edits from the Web Portal for consistency.

6. Update Room or Cleaning Category

  • Each item includes its Room, Category, and Cleaning Category.

  • Tap to edit these fields if an item was placed in the wrong room or needs reclassification.

πŸ’‘ (Note: The AI provides an initial pass of item data to save time, but manual review ensures full accuracy.)

Multimode Identification

If the item was added in Multimode, the system identifies multiple objects from a single image and lists them individually. All these will appear as individual line items within the same box or as non-salvageables. You can edit them like you would any other item added in "Single" mode as well.

βœ… Best Practices

  • Always review AI-generated fields for accuracy before finalizing the job

  • Annotate damage areas to speed up claim or cleaning decisions

  • Use the web portal for bulk editing or replacement verification

  • Keep item photos updated if their condition changes

🧩 Troubleshooting

If images don’t load: Check your connection or refresh the screen.
If AI data is missing or incorrect: Tap Edit and manually correct the fields.
Remember to save: After editing an item, make sure to hit 'save' so your changes are saved to the item.
